Entry #4 – AMK’S NIGHT SHOW AND XMAS

December 9, 2009

Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of the “Tuesday Night Delight” blog, right here on the AMK Studios Blogzone!

I’m your host, the awesome, the amazing, the self-proclaimed “Tuesday Night Delight”, the one and only DJ AMK.

In this edition, I will discuss my thoughts on last night’s episode of “AMK’S NIGHT SHOW” on BlogTalkRadio, plus I will briefly talk about my plans for Christmas this year!

First off, I want to say how great the show was last night. Even though we didn’t get any wild and crazy gayish callers like we’ve had the past 2 weeks, having the band SIN on last night was just summarized in one word – awesome. The guys of the band were really cool to talk to, and I realized that the guys and I have something in common, that we are pro wrestling fans! I really enjoyed our little discussion about TNA and WWE and how TNA is going to make an ‘iMPACT!’ when they go LIVE on Jan. 4th on SpikeTV, head to head with ‘Monday Night RAW’. I also enjoyed learning how they all met each other, and listening to some of their crazy stories from their time on the road.

Which brings me to my next topic…my plans for Christmas this year. As you may have heard on previous episodes of “AMK’S NIGHT SHOW”, I do work fulltime as a Photo Lab Technician at CVS/Pharmacy. Well, unfortunately I will not be doing anything spectacular this coming Christmas. I won’t be celebrating X-mas with my relatives, which is what I have done in the past couple of years, nope I will not be doing that this year. What I will be doing is working at CVS in the Photo Lab and getting double time overtime pay. Gotta make that cash!

And speaking of money, I’m still in the process of saving money to buy my own laptop. So far I saved $175 bucks in my bank account. Hopefully these paychecks in the next couple of weeks will be big bucks and then I will have enough money for the laptop I want. Next week’s blog I will give another update on my money-saving plan.

Well, that’s it for this edition of the “Tuesday Night Delight” blog. Tune in to the next episode of AMK’S NIGHT SHOW next Tuesday at 9pm ET/8pm CT, as I broadcast LIVE with my next guests, the band Capslock Friday. Again, that’s next Tuesday night at 9pm ET/8pm CT, only on blogtalkradio.com/djamk!

Have a great day everyone!

Entry #3 – Thanksgiving

November 26, 2009

Hello again, and welcome to another edition of The “Tuesday Night Delight” Blog, here on the AMK Studios Blogzone. I’m your host, the one and only DJ AMK.

So today is Thanksgiving Day, a time for family, a time for fun, a time for giving thanks, and in today’s blog entry I will list the things that I am thankful for in my life.

#1. I would like to thank the almighty God for giving me a great voice for radio.  Without it, I wouldn’t be able to host my awesome show on BlogTalkRadio (which of course is the most listened-to radio show here at AMK Studios).

#2. I am thankful for my mother and father who have taught me so much even though I’m not their little boy anymore. You guys rock!

#3. I am thankful for my friends who have been able to put up with my bull**** every time I hang out with them.

#4. I am thankful for being able to watch the WWE on TV. If those people in WCW ran the company the right way without all the creative politics and bull**** and ran the all-mighty Vince McMahon out of business, the WWE would never be on TV today. So with that I thank Vince McMahon for buying Dubya See Dubya and keeping the WWE alive and well today.

And finally…

#5. I would like to give thanks to myself. To think back in 2006 I never thought it would be possible for me to have my own Internet entertainment company, an amazing website I can call my pride and joy, and to be the host of a great Internet radio show where bands and local musicians from around the US can get themselves heard and noticed.

To think that if the genesis of AMK Studios never happened on that fateful day in February of 2006, I would not have AMKStudios.com, I would not have the Internet radio shows, I would not have anything. So yes, as selfish and as arrogant as it may seem, I give special thanks to MYSELF for being the founder of AMK Studios, Inc.

Well, that’s it for this Thanksgiving edition of The “Tuesday Night Delight” Blog. I wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Be sure to tune in this Tuesday night for an all-new LIVE episode of AMK’S NIGHT SHOW as I welcome my next guests, recording artists BAD FATHERS, for an exclusive interview that you don’t want to miss. It all begins at 9PM ET/8PM CT/7PM MT/6PM PT, only on blogtalkradio.com/djamk.

Blog #2 – WWE Survivor Series Predictions

November 21, 2009

Hello everyone, and welcome to another blog entry of “Tuesday Night Delight”. I’m your blog host, DJ AMK. In this blog entry, I will discuss my predictions for each match for WWE’s pay-per-view, Survivor Series, which goes on-air in less than 24 hours.

Batista vs. Rey Mysterio

I was shocked at how Batista turned heel at Bragging Rights and attacked his now-former friend Rey Mysterio. Batista had been pushing WWE officials to turn him heel because his babyface character was becoming very stale, and this heel turn, in my opinion, came at a great time. And since he turned heel, Batista’s in-ring promos and mic work had greatly improved and now have more life to them! So at Survivor Series, we will see these two former best friends get in the ring and battle each other. If Batista’s wrestling doesn’t improve, expect Rey to carry this thing through and make it entertaining. I think Batista will get disqualified, go insane, and send Rey out of the arena on a stretcher. I feel if Rey wins the feud itself will lose major momentum and will make Batista’s heel turn a total failure.

MY PREDICTION: REY MYSTERIO WINS VIA DQ

Team Mickie (Mickie James, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Melina and Gail Kim) vs. Team Michelle (Michelle McCool, Jillian, Beth Phoenix, Layla and Alicia Fox)

To be honest I could care less about this match. Almost all of the Diva angles I’ve seen lately have been completely lackluster and cannot be taken seriously. The basics I got from that was Michelle cuts up Mickie’s clothes and gets her uber pissed. If the WWE wants us to start caring about the divas again, don’t put them in bullshit feuds like this one. So who wins? Well, who cares? By process of randomly pointing my finger at the screen with my eyes clothes, I’ll say Team Mickie wins, with Melina and Mickie as the last women standing.

My Prediction: TEAM MICKIE, Melina & Mickie Sole Survivors

Team Morrison (John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, and Finlay) vs. Team Miz (The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger)

In my opinion, this match hasn’t been built nearly as well as the other traditional match has. Sure, we’ve seen Morrison vs. Ziggler, Shelton vs. Sheamus, and Finlay vs. McIntyre, but confrontation between the two captains has been severely lacking. I like what Morrison and Ziggler are doing on Smackdown, but the U.S. title match on Raw made no sense. Why MVP? How about Evan Bourne? That would have made sense. And what happened to the tension between Miz and Swagger? That has died out quickly. Since the Miz won the first encounter, I’ll give the nod to Team Morrison, with Morrison being the only one left.

My Prediction: Team Morrison, Morrison survives

Team Kingston (Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, R-Truth, and Christian) vs. Team Orton (Randy Orton, The Legacy, CM Punk, and William Regal)

Kofi has been absolutely outstanding in his new feud with Orton. Their encounter on this past Raw propelled their feud to a whole other level. CM Punk and R-Truth have had a nice mini feud on Smackdown for the past couple of weeks, while Christian and Regal have been going at it for months on ECW. The men who wear red are a nice addition to Team Kofi, while the Legacy could turn out to be the x-factor. Could this be DiBiase’s time to turn face? There are a couple of different ways they could go about it. I would like to see Team Orton win with both Orton and DiBiase surviving. However, I see DiBiase getting the pin, causing Randy to get enraged and attack Ted. Either way, with the way Kofi’s been getting the upper hand lately Orton’s team will most likely win the match.

My Prediction: Team Orton, DiBiase and Orton survive

Triple-Threat WHC Match: The Undertaker(c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Big Show

Right now, this triple threat has been build much more effectively than its Raw counterpart. This is due in large part to the lack of a midget in the center of the feud. Instead of making the match a joke and having Hornswoggle run around all over the place, we have seen quality matches and good promos delivered. There has been some tension within Jeri-Show, but for the most part, they have worked well as a team. I expect that to break down to an extent at the PPV. So many things can happen with both of these matches, but for this particular bout, I think the Undertaker will retain. I don’t think Jeri-Show will be completely torn apart, but they will be yelling at each other at the end of the match.

My Prediction: The Undertaker

Triple-Threat WWE Title Match: John Cena (c) vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels

The build for this feud could have been awesome, but ended up falling flat on its face. Instead, DX chased Hornswoggle around for four weeks, pedigreed him, and made the actual match seem secondary. Plus, the promo Cena cut on Raw was pathetic. It doesn’t help when your champion has no idea of the match he is in at the upcoming PPV. But as crappy as this has been, this match could go in so many directions that it is still something I am looking forward to watching. The obvious choice would be to have Cena win and DX left giving it their all but to no avail. But then again, the WWE title is being passed around like a game of hot potato lately, so I don’t think Cena will retain. While it is highly unlikely, I would love to see HBK win this thing. I’d rather see that than have HHH win and then end up turning on HBK saying how much better he is. By giving HBK the title, the feud can be left open to a myriad of options, such as the highly doubtful HBK heel turn. Maybe I’m going a bit off the deep end here, but give the damn belt to Shawn.

My Prediction: Shawn Michaels

All in all, this card has potential and can easy be a good PPV or a dismal one like the last Survivor Series.
