About Us

Thank you for your interest in AMK Studios.com. Many people have asked about the history of AMKStudios.com, here is the complete overview:

AMK Studios was founded in 2006 by Andrew Kaplan and David Abrams as just a small website from FreeWebs. Andrew and David recorded weekly podcasts together, talking about a variety of topics (including wrestling as they are both wrestling fans), and posted them onto the website for people to download or stream. Little did they know that people were actually visiting the website and enjoying the podcasts!

In December of 2006, Andrew had the name AMK Studios, Inc. incorporated as an S corporation within the state of New York, and named himself the President and David as the Vice-President. Soon after that achievement, Andrew purchased the rights to the AMKStudios.com domain name, then revamped the web site with an all-new site design and direction.

In January 2007, David resigned as Vice-President and left the company, giving Andrew total control of the company’s operations. Andrew then moved AMK Studios’ operations to The College Of Westchester in White Plains, NY, where he took some classes as a student, while at the same time developed and produced two other podcasts for AMKStudios.com with a few students he knew.

Andrew left The College of Westchester in June 2007 and quickly moved the company’s operations back to his home in Yorktown Heights, NY. He developed and produced his own weekly podcast for AMKStudios.com from September to December, and in January of 2008 he decided to take a break from running the company to focus on other opportunities.

June 2008 is considered the defining moment for AMK Studios, as Andrew began hosting an Internet radio show for BlogTalkRadio.com called AMK IN THE NIGHT under the AMK Studios banner, thus letting everyone know that AMK Studios was going to be back on the map once again. Since June of ’08, he was hosting off and on for several months with the on-air name DJ AMK before taking another break from broadcasting on BlogTalkRadio in December 2008, which would end up being 7 long months.

As soon as he came back from his vacation in Bermuda back in July of this year, Andrew became rejuvenated and quickly brought back his Internet radio show, renaming it AMK’S NIGHT SHOW, and hosting it every Tuesday night on BlogTalkRadio.com/djamk. In September, Andrew brought Tomiko into the company, and developed a new Internet radio show for her entitled “Tomiko’s Late Night Lounge”, which can be heard at BlogTalkRadio.com/tomikoslounge.
